Woke up this morning to pouring rain - which of course didn't matter a bit. Off we went from our sweet little hotel to discover Venice. Our hotel - that we found in the dark last night in the pouring rain by riding a bus and a boat and walking down little cobblestone alleyways (calles) - was just a short walk away from the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal. And yes, it really DOES look like this! We were totally amazed and just had to stand and gaze (in the rain).

ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, there are produce boats and police boats, and post office boats, and fire station boats. Everything that can be done on the land is done on the water here in Venice! And we are hoping that the water bus (Vaporetto) that we hop onto whenever we want to go anywhere never gets a 'flat tire!' That would be disastrous!
